Method 1: Adjusting your lifestyle

  • Avoid standing or sitting for long periods of time
  • Develop healthy eating habits
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure
  • Exercise regularly
  • Quit smoking and limit your alcohol consumption

Method 2: Use Cosmetic Procedures and Professional Products

  • Wear Compression Stockings
  • Opt corrective measures such as sclerotherapy, surgery and light source/laser treatment.

What Are the Treatment Options?

Laser Vein Removal: It’s a non-surgical technique used to treat varicose veins. Before you elect to undergo the procedure, it is advisable to avoid excessive sun exposure for a few weeks prior to the treatment.

Sclerotherapy: Sclerotherapy is one of the most common procedures used to treat both varicose and spider veins. This procedure involves the use of an injectable sclerosant (salt solution) to cause leg varicosities and spider veins (Telangiectasias) to disappear and fade.

What Can I Expect After The Procedure?

  • Normal activities can be resumed after sclerotherapy
  • Say ‘NO’ to Massage / Sauna
  • Use compression stockings
  • Avoid wearing high heels for a long period of time

You should consult Dr. Roura about your treatment options and the risks before choosing a method. She may suggest taking a more practical approach, such as surgery or laser treatments.
