Labiaplasty (minora)

 

This cosmetically corrects a floppy or uneven labia minora (smaller inner vaginal lips). The growth or  “ sagging “ of the labial skin  could be due to excessive Estrogen hormone during puberty and pregnancy or simply the effect of gravity with aging. This condition is not only aesthetically unattractive but often causes chronic irritation, and discomfort during sexual intercourse. In some,  the excess tissue may appear as an embarrasing  “bulge” in the underwear or tight clothing such as swimsuits The excess  labial tissue is excised with Ellman Surgitron and tissue margins are re-approximated using very fine sutures.  Labiaplasty is done in the operating room  under local anesthesia ( with option of sedation) and takes less than an hour to perform.
