Hymenoplasty

This surgery is the reconstruction of the hymen back to its  "virgin" state. Reasons for having the surgery borders on cultural, religious,  social and psychological concerns of the patient. Hymenoplasty, is only limited to women  who have not had any vaginal deliveries, and can only be done if there is adequate hymenal  tissue remnants left. Extremely precise incisions are made on each remnant tissue of the hymeneal ring. These remnants are reapproximated with the use of delicate sutures to hold the tissues in place. Expectedly,  the act of sexual intercourse will result in bleeding when the hymen is torn or stretched. Hymenoplasty is done  under local anesthesia and   takes less than an hour to perform.
